Want to enter the exciting world of make-up and beauty? Gain practical skills the enable you to embark on a creative career in this vibrant industry.

This course will provide you with the fundamental professional skills and knowledge you need to forge a successful career in makeup and beauty. You will be able to utilise your talents at events such as weddings, formals, photoshoots and makeup counter demonstrations, leading to jobs in the beauty, fashion, media and entertainment fields.

With a variety of content, such as airbrush makeup, eyelash extensions, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, cosmetic tanning, photography makeup, editorial makeup, period makeup, creative makeup (runway, and avant-garde), hairstyling along with business units to prepare you for your chosen freelance career, all taught by highly skilled trainers in a fantastic environment, your course will be full of options to pursue.

Students in year 11 or 12 may undertake this course as part of the VET in schools program, to contribute towards their high school certificate.

Qualification & Units of Competency

Student's who successfully complete all of the units listed below will receive the nationally recognised SHB30215: Certificate III in Make Up qualification.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Do you have 2 or more years industry relevant experience? Have your experience recognised and increase your employment prospects by applying for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Through RPL you could reduce the duration of your studies. RPL assessed on a case by case basis, so it is only available upon application.

*Students will be charged an administration fee of $200 per unit of competency.

Upon enrolling in the course, the student (and guarantor/s) becomes liable to the institute for the full course fees.

Full Course Cost: $3,900.00

Required Equipment & Additional Costs:

Students will need to provide the following equipment:

• Basic stationary
• Printing and photocopying done by student
• Kit - $796.00 (includes: makeup kit, airbrush gun, eyelash extension kit and pants. List available upon enrolment).
• PLUS a professional photoshoot with images for your portfolio
• Australian Institute of Creative Design t’shirt

Students will be required to source outside models throughout the duration of the course - models may be needed for consecutive weeks on occasion

Qualification

Students who successfully complete the course will receive the nationally recognised Certificate III in Make Up (SHB30215) qualification.

Graduates are eligible for enrolment in the Diploma of Beauty Therapy course or the Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Makeup Services) course, and will be eligible for direct credit for units completed in this course.

Course Duration:
