The Diploma of Beauty Therapy course offers students intensive training in the beauty & spa industry to give students the skills to work in their chosen area of these exciting and rapidly expanding industries.

Our training includes Microdermabrasion, Indian Head Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Eyelash Extensions and Spray Tanning as part of the course at no additional cost!
The Australian Institute of Creative Design is ITEC approved, this means that our Diploma of Beauty Therapy course has also been developed to the international qualification standards of ITEC and from this Students will gain a dual qualification (National and International). During the course students will have the opportunity to work with customers in a simulated beauty and spa environment, performing treatments under supervision and guidance from the trainers. This course opens the door for a wide range of employment opportunities for our graduates within the beauty industry.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Do you have 2 or more years industry relevant experience? Have your experience recognised and increase your employment prospects by applying for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Through RPL you could reduce the duration of your studies. RPL assessed on a case by case basis, so it is only available upon application.
*Students will be charged an administration fee of $200 per unit of competency.

Course Duration:
Full Time: The course runs over 10 months, 3 Days per week on campus from 9.00am - 4.30pm. Students are also required to complete additional hours of self directed study each week to enable you to achieve the Diploma. If sitting ITEC qualifications you will be required to attend extra classes in study period 4 to prepare for the international exam. ITEC theory and practical examinations take place after the Diploma of Beauty Therapy has been completed.
Part Time: This course can be completed over 24-30 months, 1 or 2 days per week on campus. The overall course duration will vary depending on the individual module dates selected. Minimum completion time for 2 days per week study is 2 years.

Formal Education or Work/Life Experience:
To enrol into the Diploma of Beauty Therapy the applicant must have a passion for helping others, have a pleasant and caring manner, have good interpersonal skills, have a high level of personal presentation and moderate computer skills.

Prerequisites:
There are no prerequisites for entry into this qualification.
Course Fees
VET Student Loans
From the 1st of January 2017 a new government student loan scheme became available to students enrolling into eligible courses at approved providers.
VET Student Loans are available for students who meet the eligibility requirements to assist with payment of the course fees. Students who take out a VET Student Loan will have a HELP debt which is due to the Commonwealth until it is repaid.

To be eligible you must:
- Be a Queensland resident
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency; and
- Prospective students must not have or be enrolled in a certificate IV or higher-level qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training.
This means that for eligible students, your out of pockets costs will be reduced and if you are eligible for the VET Student Loan your loan debt will be lower.
As this is a funded course we are also offering concessions to students who aren’t eligible for a funded position under the QUEENSLAND Higher Level Skills program but who are on a concessional health card.

Application and Enrolment Process:
- Phone the Gold Coast (07) 55 938 335 OR Brisbane (07) 38 541 395 campus to arrange your interview OR fill out the online Application Form and arrange a phone interview if you cannot come into either campus.
- Attend your interview or complete the phone interview.
- You will receive your enrolment paperwork and the student handbook at the interview and information on the required evidence you will have to supply to support your application.
- After reading the student handbook and enrolment forms, if you wish to enrol you must submit the enrolment form along with any requested evidence (original or certified copies of originals). Our administration staff will check the completed enrolment form and evidence you supplied to demonstrate your suitability for the course. We may have to ask you further information or discuss your options if you don't meet the suitability requirements for the course. If you do meet the suitability requirements for the course, we will send you a Confirmation of Enrolment, along with payment plan forms.
