Photography Competition!

Attention wannabe fashion photographers and stylists wanting to get behind the camera… AICD is now offering photography courses! To celebrate we are launching a photography competition for amateur and student photographers who would like to win a position in our ‘Fashion Photography and Styling’ course commencing on the 22nd of October!

To enter, add the ‘AustralianInstitute ofCreativeDesign‘ as a friend on Facebook and email your photo and description to photocomp@aicdedu.com.au. The photo will then be uploaded to our Facebook profile and users can vote for their favourite photo. The photo with the most likes by 5pm Friday the 7th of October wins! Winter Chills and Fashion Thrills

A big thank-you to all of you who came to support our Certificate III in Styling students and the Ronald McDonald House Charities by coming along to the ‘For the Love of Fashion’ parade at Light Space in Fortitude Valley last Friday night. The parade was organised by eight up and coming stylists – Elisha Casagrande, Jasmine Arons, Shannon West, Shari Elise, Kymberly Smith, Shelley Hughes, Hollie Mueller and Bianka Phillips and featured designs from Miss Show Pony, George Wu, Soot, Starring Nobody, Mac n’ Fleur, Neon Heartache and Honor Cass.

For those of you who were unable to come, here is a little sneak peak of what you missed – unfortunately the video quality isn’t so wonderful, but hopefully we will be able to update you again soon with a better video and some photos from the night.

Australian Institute of Creative Design Certificate III in Styling students present the ‘For the Love of Fashion – Winter Chills and Fashion Thrills’ fashion parade featuring Brisbane’s finest up and coming designers at Light Space exhibition space on Friday the 3rd of June 2011 from 7.30pm. Tickets are $10 at the door and all proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia. Come along and support Brisbane’s up and coming stylists and designers! Thank-you to all of those who came along to the AICD Student’s Present Fashion Friday’s Parade at the Temple last night. It was a great night, the garments were amazing, the models looked fabulous and the parade ran smoothly! Congratulations to all of the student’s involved for doing such a fantastic job, whether it be designing and making the garments, organising the parade, doing the hair and make-up or dressing backstage, you all did a fantastic job and the night’s success was a credit to you all.

Students Present ‘Fashion Friday’ Parade

Come along to our next fashion parade on Friday the 24th of September at the Temple Lounge in Surfers Paradise!

The parade is being organised by our Certificate III in Styling students and will feature designs by our Diploma of Applied Fashion Design & Technology students!

There is a $10 entry fee to get into the Temple on the night. Students, their Parents/Guardians and the Media will have free entry -please RSVP to ssaywell@aicdedu.com.au or 55 938 335 for free entry.

Metamorphosis… The Interpretation of Design

You are invited to attend the ‘Metamorphosis…‘ parade to be held on Wednesday the 18th of August at Lauxes Lounge Bar & Restaurant Broadbeach from 6pm.

Metamorphosis will showcase the launch collections from four emerging design labels – Astrid King (designed by Candice Turner), Becoming Silhouettes (designed by Amit Ayalon), Jez-e-Bel (designed by Aubrey Wright) and Mac&Bain (designed by Alana McBain).

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from administration at the Australian Institute of Creative Design Gold Coast Campus – 14/475 Scottsdale Drv, Varsity Lakes. RSVP by Friday the 13th of August 2010.

Laruche Parade

Check out these photos from the Parade styled by our Brisbane Diploma of Styling students held in the gorgeous Laruche Bar in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Students selected garments from local fashion retailers in Fortitude Valley such as Subfusco and put together a variety of looks for the parade and also did the model’s hair and make-up and dressed backstage!
