Julian’s Future Fashion has Electric Style
Congratulations to our Diploma of Fashion Design student Julian Napier for his win at the ‘Electric Playground Club Couture’ fashion competition last night! The competition was held by the newest nightclub venue in the Valley (Brisbane) – Electric Playground, their mission is to evolve the nightclub cuture in Brisbane and with that theme in mind, the brief for the competition was to design your view of club wear for the year 2050!
Julian, along with classmate Masa Gracanic were selected as finalists in the competition after submitting their designs in to be judged in late June. Selected finalists finished garments were then paraded at the Electric Playground on Thursday the 22nd of July to a panel of judges including fashion and beauty editor at the Sunday Mail – Kellie Alderman, Francis Leon designer Katy Lysaught, founder of the Brisbane Clothing Exchange – Cassie Wood, award winning designer & retailer Daniel Alexander and moel booker from Tamblyn Models – Courtney Smith.
Julian won a fantastic prize including $500 cash from Electric Playground, $250 credit towards fabrics from Spotlight, a portfolio photoshoot with Nick Art and Photography worth over $500 and will have the opportunity to have his design featured in the front window of the Daniel Alexander Couture store in Fortitude Valley for two weeks in August!
