New Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy Course

facial treatmentAICD announces that we are now offering the SIB40110: Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy qualification part-time with flexible study options allowing students to select when they would like to complete the individual modules. The course is broken into models of facials, waxing and tinting, make-up, massage, manicure and pedicures and anatomy and physiology. Students have the option of completing the course over one or two days per week on Friday’s and/or Saturday’s. This format will allow students to complete modules in the order that suits them and once each module is successfully completed students will be able to apply for work in the industry in the study areas successfully completed.

We are offering the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy course in the same format as we have been offering the Certificate III in Beauty Services for the past two years, which we have found to be successful for students completing the course, allowing them to fit their study in around their other work and personal commitments. This also allows students to upgrade easily from the Certificate III in Beauty Services to the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy by adding on the modules not already undertaken. Students may also enrol in the modules individually if desired.

Check out the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy course information page for more information.

Katie’s Retro Style Wins Bikini Showdown

Katie Style’s swimwear design titled ‘Retro Excitement’ took out the Billabong Design for Humanity Swimwear Competition on the 24th of November with over 100,000 votes for her design placed on the competition website.  In an interview with Katie on the Billabong Girls website, Katie states that it was ‘perfect timing’ for her to enter the competition, as she was completing a textile design unit as part of the Diploma of Fashion and Textiles Merchandising at the time, although she is not sure how she came up with the design.

The competition invited entries from all over Australia to create a textile design for a Billabong Girls Bikini with the winner having their design sold as a Billabong limited edition piece through the Surf Stitch website. Out of hundreds of entries, Katie’s design was selected as one of the two finalists to go head to head in the ‘Bikini Showdown’ for the most votes on the website in the week leading up to the Design for Humanity event held in Sydney, with the final votes cast on the night by attendees via SMS.
