Last Friday night (the 7th of October), eleven of our first year fashion design students participated in the 2011 Queensland Brides Design Awards student category – Calico Brides. The competition was held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in South Bank, where the student paraded their bridal designs made from seven metres of calico alongside professional bridal designers gowns. AICD student Liezl Boshoff was awarded the ‘Highly Commended’ award for her bridal gown titled ‘Linea Houdini’. Watch the parade below:

Australian Institute of Creative Design Certificate III in Styling students present the ‘For the Love of Fashion – Winter Chills and Fashion Thrills’ fashion parade featuring Brisbane’s finest up and coming designers at Light Space exhibition space on Friday the 3rd of June 2011 from 7.30pm. The parade will showcase the designs of Rheya Minard, Sarah Hultman, Marie Gleeson, Cynthia Coetzer, Julian Napier and Tania Tuetue and will be featured as part of Sanctuary Cove’s Winter Festival from the 4th – 19th of June.
