Handbag & Shoe Design Workshop (3 Days)
This three day workshop is focussed on exploring the design of handbags and shoes. We all know that every female has an obsession with shoes and handbags.. why not turn this passion into a hobby or a career!. Learn how to develop design ideas and illustration and rendering techniques for your designs. Learn about the different handbag and shoe design styles and components and how to present your design ideas professionally. (Please note this is a design course only, students will not be making bags or shoes in this course).

Beginner Sewing Workshop Course (5 Days)
Never sewn before? Get started with our one week basic sewing course. Students will make a skirt learning techniques such as grain line, inserting invisible zippers, lining, darts and overlocking. After completing the first garment, students will learn important sewing techniques including a variety of different seam finishes and a fly front zip.

Introduction to Pattern Making* (5 Days)
Over one week learn basic pattern making techniques for skirts, tops, shirts and dresses. Learn how to adjust a block pattern to you own measurements. Pattern make various skirt styles - A-Line, Panel Line, Gore, Yoke, High Waisted, Circular and Pleated. Pattern make various dress/top styles - empire line, princess line, gathered, t-shirt. Shirt's, collars, sleeves. Take a pattern from a basic garment.

Introduction to Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop for Fashion Design (3 Days)
Learn how to create professional looking specification drawings (also known as: technical drawings, specs, flats or line drawings) in Illustrator. Learn how to use the pen tool, reflecting your illustration, applying fabric swatches or patterns, creating pattern repeats, creating brushes, creating a symbols library of styles and creating a design presentation. Take your illustration into photoshop and perform layer masks and add shading to create a 3D look.

Develop an understanding of the fashion industry, fashion trend forecasting, customer identification, buying strategies, stock management, product selection & mixes, the buying calendar and sales forecasting. This is a great course for students’ looking at opening their own retail stores, designers, or those wanting to study fashion design or merchandising further.

Learn how to apply makeup professionally – understanding skin types, face shapes and makeup products & their uses. Highlighting and shading to enhance your face. Choosing the right foundation, blush, lip and eye shadow colours for your skin. Creating a natural beauty makeup look, creating the ‘smokey eye’ look, create an evening/glamour makeup look to suit your face and your style.

Swimwear Sewing Workshop (5 days)
Would you like to be able to make your own swimwear? Learn how to make an underwire bra bikini top to fit you. You will also learn how to handle swimwear lycra fabrics and apply elastic and binding to create a professionally finished swimsuit. Find out where you can purchase lycra wholesale to start your own swimwear label. During the course you will be able to make a couple of swimsuits - these could include: bikini, tankini, monokini or a one-piece. Prior sewing experience is necessary.

Fashion Photography & Styling (5 Days)
Would you like a career in fashion photography or fashion styling?
This course will train you in developing shots that are visually exciting and fashion focused. Learn about digital SLR camera's and how to use them to create fantastic shots. Learn about the equipment used, shot composition, lighting techniques, runway/catwalk photography, studio shoots and location shoots. Work on initial creative concept development through to an actual shoot. You will participate in two photoshoots - one in our studio, the other on location. Learn from professional fashion photographer -Ricardo.
Do you have an interest in fashion styling? Extend your skills and knowledge by learning the background of fashion photography. This is a great add on to the Styling for the Media course, as it builds on the skills developed in this course.
